Promises of Allah in Quran
A
promise is a declaration or an assurance that one will do something or
that a particular thing will happen. Allah Almighty is the creator of
this world. Allah has revealed a Holy Book Quran for all mankind. Quran
is the book of guidance for all mankind. Allah (SWT) spoke of His
creation through Quran. Quran has its unique style of narration or we
can say the style of Allah’s narration. In Quran, Allah has committed
promises to His believers and we all know Allah does not break His
promises. You can read about all these Allah promises in Quran with
translation and transliteration on your smartphone, you can download it
from the links provided below:
When
we read Quran with understanding then we will be able to understand
what Allah (SWT) committed to us His believers. In our daily life
routine, we like those people who fulfill their promises and we regard
them as most respectable people. Allah
promises His believers of many good things as a result of their faith
and righteousness. Anyone who has a complete faith in the religion of
Islam knows that Allah`s guarantee never fails: if one cannot get the
said return in this world, it would be given in the life hereafter.
Allah
(SWT) did promises to His believers in Quran and surely He will fulfill
these promises because He does not break His commitments. If we want to
get blessings from Almighty Allah then we should also do righteous
deeds. Some of the promises of Allah are mentioned below:
1. A Good Life:
Believers
face many difficulties in their life we can’t think they have a very
good life. But the believers who are possibly going through suffering,
Allah is giving them a feeling in their heart that could not be bought
with the wealth of this worldly life. Due to this satisfaction believers
have more faith in their Creator Allah Almighty. Allah says in Quran
“Whoever
works righteousness, man or woman, and has Faith, verily, to him will
We give a new Life, a life that is good and pure and We will bestow on
such their reward according to the best of their actions.” (Quran 16:97)
Because
of the difficulty, the believers go through and the patience they show
Allah gives them something in their hearts that cannot be described with
 words.
2. Forgiveness:
Always
try to do righteous deeds for pleasing Allah (SWT). As Allah (SWT)
promised to His believers about forgiveness. He also promised of great
reward and we can’t even imagine how great this reward would be.
“To those who believe and do deeds of righteousness has Allah promised forgiveness and a great reward.” (Quran, 5:9)
So we all should do good deeds for the sake of Allah’s forgiveness.
3. Remembrance:
Allah Almighty says in Quran:
“So remember me, I will remember you.” (Quran 2:152).
Allah
promises his believers that if they will remember Him, He will also
remember them. Allah Almighty surely fulfills His commitments.
4. Protection:
Allah
promises to His believers that He will protect them from any kind of
difficulty or problem. We all should know no one is greater saver than
Him. Allah says in Quran:
“Verily
Allah will defend (from ill) those who believe, verily, Allah loves not
any that is a traitor to faith or shows ingratitude.” (Quran 22:38)
Allah Almighty will protect believers.
5. Guidance:
Allah (SWT) says in Quran to His believers
“Those who believe, and work righteousness, their Lord will guide them because of their faith, beneath them will flow rivers in gardens of bliss.” (Quran, 10:9)
“Those who believe, and work righteousness, their Lord will guide them because of their faith, beneath them will flow rivers in gardens of bliss.” (Quran, 10:9)
Every
day we ask Allah (SWT) for guidance in our salah. We should pray
our salah regularly on time and should do good deeds. If Allah (SWT)
didn’t accept dua of ours, He is guiding us to something better or
delaying it for a later date to strengthen us in faith. We should always
believe in Almighty Allah at every cost.
6. Kindness:
Allah
Almighty is very generous, kindhearted and benevolent. He will show
mercy to His believers. No matter you are in what situation whether its
shortage of money, illness, business crises and other situation related
to it, Allah (SWT) has a solution to all your problems. Allah says in
Quran
“If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.” (Quran, Surah Ibrahim: verse 7)
7. Protection from Shaitaan:
Shaitaan
is very strong and experienced more than we know; we can’t defeat him
without getting help from Almighty Allah.  Allah says in Quran
“No authority has he (i.e. Shaitaan) over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord.” (Quran, 16:99)
Allah
has given us many weapons to defeat the Shaitaan. A believer should use
these weapons that Allah has given him. For example, Ayat-ul-Kursi
which is recited before going to sleep and on other occasions. Put your
trust fully in Allah (SWT) and know with certainty that Allah (SWT) has
something better planned for you.
8. Paradise:
The
ultimate promise of Allah (SWT) to His believers is Jannah. All our
deeds and actions in this world should bring us closer to Allah (SWT)
and earn Jannah. If our deeds and actions are not bringing us closer to
Allah (SWT) then we need to re-evaluate our lives, purify our
intentions, and seek Allah’s forgiveness and His mercy. Allah says in
Quran
“Give
glad tidings to those who believe and work righteousness, that their
portion is Gardens, beneath which rivers flow. Every time they are fed
with fruits therein, they say: “Why, this is what we were fed with
before,” for they are given things in similitude; and they have therein
companions pure (and holy), and they abide therein (forever).”(Quran, 2:25)
The promise of Paradise is sufficient and is, in fact, more than what we deserve. However one has to earn this, as the product of Allah, i.e. Paradise is not cheap.
These
are some of the many promises of Allah Almighty to His believers which
we can benefit from by following our faith and religious
responsibilities apologetically. Indeed, His assurance is the most
rightful of all the affirmation.
6 Promises of Allah Almighty to the Believers
No
society can survive and move forward without the much needed conviction
and reliance among its inhabitants. This hope bounds them together, and
enhances their cooperation. But where does this mutual trust come from?
It develops through fulfilling commitments and being truthful in
relationships. Nobody likes and approves person who is known to be a
customary fraud. On the other hand, one who always completes its pledge
is regarded as the most respectable person amongst people.
Since,
adhering to oaths is a great virtue, Allah Almighty Himself promises
His believers of many good things as a result of their faith and
righteousness. Anyone who has a complete conviction in the religion of
Islam, knows that God`s guarantee never fails: if one cannot get the
said return in this world, it would be given in hereafter.
Wherein
they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth.
And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.” [Quran, 31: 9]
Hence,
there is no doubt that The Glorious One`s assurance is based on
reality, and He has constantly reminded His followers of this fact in
the Holy Quran as seen in the above verse. While there are unlimited
rewards and benefits of the Gracious Lord for the faithful Muslims,
which we cannot even think about, but according to Furqan e Hameed, here
are 25 guarantees of Allah SWT to His believers:
- Reward for Steadfastness and Patience
There
come some unwanted moments in life, where a person becomes pessimist,
and loses faith in God. Hardships are part of everyone`s life, but those
remain resolute in their attitude towards terrible period of time and
have full confidence in Allah as being the Ultimate Power, will always
get rewarded for their endurance and determination in the way of truth.
But,
We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make
evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the
liars. [Quran, 29: 3]
The
above stated Ayah Kareema shows that true Muslims will always be
analyzed for their belief in Allah, Who will eventually make everything
reasonable for them by differentiating them from the liars, for their
truthfulness and persistence during the time of adversity. So, we should
not tremble in such instances; rather maintain our belief in the
Immortal Lord to get His bounties.
- Provision of Blessings
The
demise of the present day Muslims is down to their ignorance and
overlooking of what they claim to believe in. Every Prophet, while
spreading the word of Allah, used to convince them by not only telling
them about the worst punishments as a result of worshiping idols and
practicing iniquity, but also inform them about the great things from
God in case of embracing and holding onto their teachings. The ones who
have believed in their sayings became prominent in the sight of Allah
and are blessed forever, while the disbelievers get severe punishments.
“And
if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We
would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but
they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were
earning.” [Quran, 7: 96]
So,
Allah Almighty says that if all the past civilizations had hold onto
whatever His Messengers told them to do; they would be granted superior
possessions from the Gracious Lord, Himself. But they were destroyed for
their disobedience. Therefore, as long as we remain on the right path,
and adhere to Islamic lessons, we will be eligible for getting blessings
 from Allah Almighty.
- Getting Allah`s Guidance
No
matter how much qualified we are, most of us need assistance at some
time of life. Just like one cannot see in the dark, sometimes, it feels
like one is helpless and needs somebody`s advice. Same is the case with
believers, who cannot just rely on having accepted Islam and Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) as
the last Messenger of Allah, rather they have to constantly seek the
Almighty`s supervision and His enlightenment to ease through hard times.
“And
from wherever you go out [for prayer], turn your face toward al-Masjid
al-Haram. And wherever you [believers] may be, turn your faces toward it
in order that the people will not have any argument against you, except
for those of them who commit wrong; so fear them not but fear Me. And
[it is] so I may complete My favor upon you and that you may be guided.”
 [Quran, 2: 150]
The
previously mentioned Quranic verse indicates that Allah has promised
His favor for those who pray to Him, and fear Him alone, which leads
towards His decisive direction for the dutiful followers. So, providing
that we remain committed to seeking help from only the Glorified God, we
will always remain under His custody, and that is enough for the true
Muslims.
- Protection from Satan
Majority
of us get lazy during prayers and other religious acts, which is all
down to our ignorance of the fact that Shaitaan (Satan) has enough
powers to tempt anyone towards wickedness, which is why we are advised
to seek protection from Satan`s evil before the start of any action by
reciting
“A’udhu billahi min ash-shaytaan-ir-rajeem” that actually means “I seek refuge in Allah SWT from the accursed Shaitaan”. And believers are guaranteed to be free of its malevolence influence.
“Indeed, there is for him (Shaitaan) no authority over those who have believed and rely upon their Lord.” [Quran, 16: 99]
It
means whoever puts its complete trust in Allah, there is no way that
Satan can ever get the better of such person. So, we should not be
careless in this matter, and seek defense from its malice in whatever we
do through constant relying and calling for Allah`s help only.
- Return for Every Rightful Effort
We
Muslims offer prayers and recite the Holy Quran in the month of Ramadan
so that we could be blessed with Allah`s bounties, as in this month,
one Salah is
equal to Ajar (blessing) of praying 70 times in normal day. It only
shows that we look at the larger picture only, and disregard things
which are less beneficial to us. That is not the nature of a true Muslim`s
character, rather every good deed is equally important, for small
actions lead to bigger acts, which eventually become the core of one`s
heart and soul.
Indeed,
those who have believed and done righteous deeds – indeed, We will not
allow to be lost the reward of any who did well in deeds. [Quran, 18:
30]
These
lines from Furqan e Hameed clearly inform the believers that they will
be rewarded for each and every virtuous deed that they have been doing
on earth for the sake of Allah Almighty. So, we should not let go any of
the chances to committing moral actions by considering them little in
magnitude, for there is no discrimination with the Gracious God among
the good deeds of the believers.
- Entrance into Jannah (Paradise)
A true Muslim has absolute faith in the Day of Judgment,
and knows that all the hardships in the world eventually lead to
completion of its eternal dream of entering paradise in hereafter. When
one thinks about the pleasures of Jannah, the worldly delights seem to
be irrelevant. That is why, a believer in the religion of peace gives
away everything it has in the way of Allah Almighty in a view to be
successful on the Final Day and go into the Garden of the gardens.
“Indeed,
Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties
[in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause
of Allah, so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding]
upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur’an. And who is truer
to his covenant than Allah? So rejoice in your transaction which you
have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment.” [Quran,
9: 111]
This
Quranic verse tells us that Allah SWT has promised its followers a
great place in paradise, if they remain true to their obligations in His
way and fight for a noble cause. So, we should take the opportunity to
remain faithful to our religious commitments, for the Dignified Lord has
assured us of gaining the ultimate prize in the form of entering
paradise in return of our righteous services.
These
are some of the many promises of Allah Almighty to His believers which
we can benefit from by following our faith and religious
responsibilities submissively. Verily, His assurance is the most
rightful of all the assertions.
